Julio Ybarra is a Personal Trainer holding certifications with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (PT & CES). He also attended Mesa Community College and studied exercise science and nutrition. Julio uses a wide variety of training techniques to get his clients specific results. Some of his training styles include corrective exercise, free-weights, power lifting, and plyometrics to name a few.
Julio also started his own personal training business in 2014 (Ascent Personal Training). He works one on one, in small groups, and online with clients. Julio works with a wide variety of clients, but most notably he works with weight loss clients, rehabilitation clients, and fitness competitors.
Julio keeps the ball rolling by staying active in current research, attending seminars, and reading on a wide variety of subjects to help enhance his practice. Julio has also been the guest speaker for AZHCA (Arizona Health Care Association) and has also published articles for AZHCA.
Julio is a health and fitness enthusiast himself. He has competed in 5 men's physique competitions, books 3-5 photo shoots a year, and is always striving to beat his last physique in the most natural ways possible.

My name is Darien Mathews and I am the Head Trainer at The Garage Personal Training. I am a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine - NASM. I'm a Corrective and Performance Enhancement Specialist. I also have a strong education through Precision Nutrition. I have been training for 13 years. My clients range from young to old, beginner to pro athletes, and their goals of course ranging from simply losing weight to sports performance. I provide nutritional planning, and structure our sessions around your fitness needs. On average, my clients lose 2-3 inches from their waist in their first month, because together, we can get the best results.
